Research and Markets: GSM Uses TDMA - to Allow Eight Simultaneous Calls on the Same Radio Frequency.

DUBLIN, Ireland -- Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/reports/c45410) has announced the addition of Mobile Communications Equipment and Terminal Equipment Manufacturing in China to their offering.

The Mobile Communications Equipment and Terminal Equipment Manufacturing in China industry report comprises establishments involved in the manufacturing and sales of mobile communication terminal equipment, including wireless phone apparatus (mobile phones), such as GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) A digital cellular phone technology based on TDMA that is the predominant system in Europe, but also used worldwide. Developed in the 1980s, GSM was first deployed in seven European countries in 1992.  (Global System for Mobile Communications (communications) Global System for Mobile Communications - (GSM, originally "Groupe de travail Sp?ciale pour les services Mobiles") One of the major standards for digital cellular communications, in use in over 60 countries and serving over one billion subscribers. ) and CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) A method for transmitting simultaneous signals over a shared portion of the spectrum. The foremost application of CDMA is the digital cellular phone technology from QUALCOMM that operates in the 800 MHz band and 1.9 GHz PCS band.  (Code-Division Multiple Access) handsets, cellular base stations, handset accessories and other mobile communication terminal equipment.

GSM is one of the leading digital cellular systems. GSM uses narrowband TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) A satellite and cellular phone technology that interleaves multiple digital signals onto a single high-speed channel. For cellular, TDMA triples the capacity of the original analog method (FDMA). , which allows eight simultaneous calls on the same radio frequency. CDMA is a digital wireless technology. It is a general type of technology, implemented in many specific technologies. However, the term "CDMA" is also commonly used to refer to one specific family of technologies (eg IS-95 and CDMA2000) that competes with technologies such as GSM. CDMA is a "spread spectrum" technology, which means that it spreads the information contained in a particular signal of interest over a much greater bandwidth than the original signal.
