Other growth drivers include: the male hormone product, Androgel, which has been Solvays top-selling product for a number of years; the neuroscience products, Marinol Mar·i·nol (mr-nôl (dronabinol dronabinol /dro·nab·i·nol/ (dro-nab´in-ol) one of the major active substances in cannabis, used as an antiemetic for cancer chemotherapy and anorexia and weight loss in AIDS; it is subject to abuse because of its psychotomimetic activity.

The atypical antipsychotic, bifeprunox, for the treatment of schizophrenia is expected to be filed in the EU during 2008, rather than 2006 as originally planned. Solvay and Wyeth submitted an NDA for schizophrenia to the FDA in October 2006.

SLV308, an oral therapy being developed for the treatment of the less-advanced stages of Parkinson's disease, is in Phase III trials.

Zolip (fenofibrate+statin) is in Phase III trials for dyslipidaemia, with launch scheduled for 2010.
