ResCare Premier Programs Earn Three-Year Accreditations; Services in Illinois and Missouri Get Top Ratings for Third Time in a Row.


LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- ResCare, Inc. (NASDAQ/NM:RSCR RSCR Railways (Safety Case) Regulations (UK) ), the nation's leading provider of residential, training, educational and support services support services Psychology Non-health care-related ancillary services–eg, transportation, financial aid, support groups, homemaker services, respite services, and other services  for persons with disabilities and people with special needs, announced today that its ResCare Premier programs in St. Louis and Sedalia, Mo., and Downers Grove Downers Grove, village (1990 pop. 46,858), Du Page co., NE Ill.; settled 1832, inc. 1873. Downers Grove has undergone population growth and commercial development that include the construction of new office complexes. , Ill., again achieved a superior level of accreditation from the Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission (CARF).

CARF is an independent, international accreditation body that measures an organization's quality of services and supports provided for persons with disabilities. CARF examined the Medical Rehabilitation - Brain Injury Programs at the sites and awarded each of them a three-year accreditation, the longest period awarded by the organization.

"This is the third three-year CARF accreditation for all of these outstanding ResCare Premier programs," noted Ronald G. Geary, ResCare chairman, president and chief executive officer. "Supporting people Supporting People is a UK government programme helping vulnerable people live independently and keep their social housing tenancies. According to the CARF survey report, ResCare Premier "has well-qualified staff members who clearly care and are committed to the mission of the organization. Staff members are dedicated to serving the needs of persons with brain injury." The survey team also noted that "the TEAMS (Training Education And Mentoring System) training for rehabilitation educators or frontline staff is extremely comprehensive and thorough."

Ruth Estes, Ph.D., director of training, licensing and accreditation, noted that ResCare Premier has fully integrated the CARF accreditation process into its best practices model of treatment and management. "This proprietary system, called Best in Class(C), helps us focus on measuring performance and sharing those things that work best, while at the same time encouraging the creativity that is so necessary when working in the field of acquired brain injury."

In summary, the CARF survey report concluded that "the organization is flexible and attempts to develop novel ways of ensuring that persons interact with the community and receive high quality care."
