Required reading list update.

Understanding Diagnostic Tests by Anne Frye

Understanding Diagnostic Tests in the Childbearing Year is currently out of print. The author is in the process of updating the book and it will not be reprinted until the update is completed. We don't know Don't know (DK, DKed)

"Don't know the trade." A Street expression used whenever one party lacks knowledge of a trade or receives conflicting instructions from the other party.
how long it will be until the next edition of the book is available. Understanding Diagnostic Tests is required reading for both the Labor Assistant and the Childbirth Educator Training Programs. We feel that this book is unique in its format and approach and is not easily replaced, so we are keeping it on the required reading list. If you are working on certification and are not able to purchase this book right now, we suggest you try to borrow it from a local midwife or other birth professional. People have also been successful getting this book through inter-library loan, if their local library doesn't have it. For Labor Assistants, you can submit your required reading list stating that Understanding Diagnostic Tests was not available. Childbirth Educators may have a harder time, as some of the learning activity questions refer directly to the book. If you are unable to get access to a copy of this book and it is holding up your certification process, please call the office.
