Representatives of more than 70 organizations and businesses announce their support for the 25x'25 renewable energy Renewable energy utilizes natural resources such as sunlight, wind, tides and geothermal heat, which are naturally replenished. Renewable energy technologies range from solar power, wind power, and hydroelectricity to biomass and biofuels for transportation.  vision at the second annual National Ag and Forestry Renewable Energy Summit. This impressive array of agricultural, forestry and environmental groups all have endorsed the 25x'25 vision: that by the year 2025, America's working lands will provide 25 percent of the energy consumed in the U.S.

"This is an ambitious goal, but one that makes sense for our nation's energy security, for the economy and for the environment," says William Richards, a Circleville, OH, farmer and co-chair of the 25x'25 Steering Committee. "The time is right to embrace a bold energy vision and chart a new course, securing a better future for our children and grandchildren."

A few of the organizations endorsing the program include: the American Farm Bureau Federation The American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to promoting, protecting, and representing the interests of U.S. farmers.
