Rep. Gary Miller, Vice-Chair of the Housing Subcommittee of the House Financial Services Committee, to Address Affordable Housing Legislation at NAAHL Conference.


WASHINGTON -- Members of Congress and key committee staff will meet with community investment leaders from around the country to discuss the agenda for affordable housing legislation, threats to existing housing programs contained in the Administration's proposed FY06 budget, and new tools for affordable housing, as well as the impact of proposed Community Reinvestment Act Community Reinvestment Act (CRA)

Enacted by Congress in 1977, the CRA encourages banks to help meet the credit needs of their communities for housing and other purposes, particularly in neighborhoods with low or moderate incomes, while maintaining safe and sound operations.
 (CRA See Community Reinvestment Act. ) rule changes on affordable housing, at the annual Washington legislative conference of the National Association of Affordable Housing Lenders (NAAHL NAAHL National Association of Affordable Housing Lenders ).

The NAAHL conference will be held on February 10-11, 2005, at the Sofitel Lafayette Square Hotel, 806 15th Street, NW, in the Paris Ballroom, (from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on February 10, and from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on February 11). The meeting is not open to the public, but members of the media are invited to attend.
