Renowned florist Moves to New Location.

A San Diego FTD florist expanded into a new shop in a ceremony attended by the head of FTD Inc.

Bob Norton, chairman and CEO of FTD, attended the Nov. 17 opening of Flowers by Coley at 5075 Ruffin Road. Merlin Olsen, an NFL Hall-of-Famer and an FTD spokesman, also was there.

The new shop features a wide array of flowers, plants and gifts, including hand-blown vases, fountains, birdbaths and waterfalls, skin care products, holiday decorations, and home and office accessories, said Bill Scott, a spokesman for FTD.

Even "feng shui" accessories are available for fans of Chinese geomancy, he said.

Ken and Penny Coley have owned and operated floral shops in the San Diego area for more than 28 years. As award-winning florists in the FTD, Inc. network, the Coleys helped provide floral arrangements for the inauguration ceremonies of President George Bush in 1988 and President Bill Clinton in 1992, he said.

The Coleys moved to this new location after outgrowing a previous space in the area, Scott said.

The new store on Ruffin Road, and the store in Mission Gorge, both deliver to the entire county, with the exception of Ramona and Julian. Most orders placed by noon can be delivered the same day.
