Collectively these four small books offer a fair idea of the French artworld of the Belle Epoque (about 1870-1915). Each is roughly chronological in design with sections devoted to: The Artist & His Times; The Artist's Life; The Artist's Vision; The Artist's Influence. High school students (and their teachers) will find considerable accessible information in the brief bits of biographic narrative and even more in the expanded captions for the many small clear reproductions, many of which are female nudes. These titles are part of a series well worth the small cost.
