Reno rocks with recreation: discover the home of this year's NRPA Congress & Exposition in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Every year, NRPA picks a new locale to host the annual Congress that not only offers the right hotels and conference centers, but shows a side of parks and recreation that will inspire participants. This year is no different. As park and recreation agencies send their leaders to learn, discover and mingle at the field's biggest conference, the entire Lake Tahoe area including Reno and Sparks, will welcome them with open arms.

Although most of participants' time will be spent in educational sessions learning about best practices, or on the exhibit floor exploring the latest in park and recreation products, Congress is also about enjoying time with colleagues, and taking a moment to enjoy the landscapes around them.

On the following pages, attendees will open the world of the Sierra Nevadas. They can discover downtown Reno with a map that gives easy access to everything the city has to offer (page 70). Visitors can also create their own journey, following the top 10 list of things every person should see on page 64. If they can't get out to see all the hot spots, they could learn about the park and recreation agencies that help manage these areas (page 72). Or, simply use the exhibitor map and listings to navigate the busy exhibit hall floor (page 84).
