Renewing your license online.1. Go to the Ohio eLicense Center at https://license.ohio.gov/. Remember the "https" since it is a secure Web site. 2. Select "License Renewal." 3. A screen will appear describing the site's security. Select "Login." 4. Enter your User ID and Password in the fields provided. This information will be in a letter sent to you by the ABO in early October. You can also call the ABO at 614.466.4135. 5. Select "Login." 6. On the "Online Maintenance" page, select "Online Renewal." 7. The "Online Maintenance-License Renewal" page will appear with your name and license number. Select "Renew." 8. When the "Instructions" page appears, please read all the instructions carefully. 9. On the "Address Change" page please make sure your mailing address is correct. "Credential Mail Address" is the address where you will receive official correspondence from the ABO. If this address is incorrect, select the "Credential Mail Address" link to update your address. 10. Check the address labeled "Main," which is the public address that is returned if a person looks up a licensee's status. The ABO's Web site only shows the city and state. 11. When you are finished with the address changes, select "Next" on the address change page. 12. Please complete the steps detailed in one of the following boxes depending on your type of renewal. Specific instructions for out-of-state registration renewal If your license designation is CPA.xxxxx.OS, you are considered to be in good standing because you held a valid CPA license in another state at the date of your last scheduled license renewal. The following instructions are for licensees who wish to continue this status only. If you wish to obtain either an Ohio permit or an Ohio registration, you must complete either an Ohio permit or Ohio registration application form available at acc.ohio.gov/renewal.html. 1. You will need to answer a set of questions regarding your employment. For these you will need: a. Your original certificate or license number issued by the other state b. The date the certificate or license was issued c. The number of your current out-of-state license, if applicable d. The expiration date of the license and the license status in the other state 2. The "Final Review" page will allow you to review your answers. 3. The "Payment Options" will be skipped since there is no fee to extend out-of-state status. 4 You will then be given an electronic receipt, which concludes the online renewal process. Be sure to keep this receipt until your license is issued. Specific instruction for Ohio permit renewal 1. You will need to answer a series of questions concerning your place of employment as well as the accounting services you provide. 2. Next, you will need the following information regarding your continuing education: * Total CPE credits earned * Professional standards and responsibilities CPE credits earned * Accounting and auditing CPE credits earned * Taxation CPE credits earned * Specialty CPE credits earned for tax specialists working on audits 3. The "Final Review" page will allow you to review your answers. 4. The "Payment Options" page will collect your billing information for the $150 Ohio permit renewal fee. 5. You will then be given an electronic receipt, which concludes the online renewal process. Be sure to keep this receipt until your license is issued. Specific instructions for Ohio registration renewal 1. You will need to answer a short series of questions about any accounting services you perform. 2. A final question will ask if you are in compliance with the continuing education requirements, and if you wish to obtain an Ohio permit. 3. If you answered "No" to the question above, you will be sent to the "Final Review" page. 4. The "Payment Options" page will collect your billing information for the $55 Ohio registration renewal fee. 5.
