It's never been easy for British pop band Saint Etienne to stay on board U.S. record labels. They've hopped from majors to indies to other indies and now to Savoy Jazz. But it's as good a fit as any for the genre-bending trio who throw Nick Drake folk, Sandie Shaw For the author, see .

Sandie Shaw (born Sandra Ann Goodrich on 26 February 1947) was one of the most successful British female singers of the 1960s. With her hair, slender frame, model cheekbones and outfits, she has been described as the ultimate working-class 'it'
 girl-pop, and Aphex Twin electronic references into a hopper and still manage to sound coherent album after album. Queer clubgoers know them from the remixes they commission from every "next"-level producer and DJ they meet. This latest release finds them daring to remain steadfastly themselves, never once apologizing for their idiosyncratic id·i·o·syn·cra·sy
