SEA RESCUE: Michael Todd, 21, and 16-year-old Denis Beattie (right) lived to tell the tale of how they desperately clung to a sea marker in a raging sea off Redcar in December 1980. Their terror began when their glass-fibre dinghy began to fill with water, forcing them to abandon it and swim against strong currents. They were finally rescued by Redcar lifeboat and taken to Hemlington Hospital by an RAF helicopter from Boulmer
