16 April 2010, Friday was indeed a proud and memorable day for horse fans all across the globe. On this very day, Horse Park unveiled the sculpture of the ever famous American Thoroughbred, Alysheba in Kentucky. Following an accident in his stall, the racing star had to be euthanized on 27 March 2009, Friday at 11:13 p.m. at the Hagyard Equine Medical Institute. Consequently, he was buried at the Kentucky Horse Park's Hall of Champions on 28 March. His racing career boasts of numerous, glorious coups such as the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness Stakes, the Belmont Stakes and the Breeders' Cup Classic. If you need more information on the same, you can visit the 'News' Section of virtual horse games websites.

Alysheba also won 6 Grade I Stakes including Charles H. Struba at Santa Anita, Philip K. Islelin Handicap at Monmouth and the Woodward Stakes at Belmont Park. Nearly a year after his memorial service at the Park, in order to pay tribute and honor one of the greatest race horses that ever set foot on the race track, an effigy in bonze was raised across from the statue of John Henry, also in bronze at Horse Park. Both the monuments have been created by Shelley Hunter and stand facing each other. The ceremonial was attended by his owner, Clarence Scharbauer III and many horse fans. Chris McCarron, a veteran jockey who rode both John Henry as well as Alysheba was also present. You can find Alysheba's photos in the gallery of virtual horse games.

Popularly known as 'America's Horse'; now the bronze structure of the great American favorite, Alysheba together with yet another American legend, John Henry heralds the entrance of the Park.
