Ms. Saletan, who resigned early last month from her position atop the troubled publishing company Houghton Mifflin Houghton Mifflin Company is a leading educational publisher in the United States. The company's headquarters is located in Boston's Back Bay. It publishes textbooks, instructional technology materials, assessments, reference works, and fiction and non-fiction for both young readers  Harcourt, is quoted in the release as saying, "I feel lucky beyond measure to be joining Riverhead, an imprint whose books I have long admired and whose success I have long envied, and to be joining a company whose strength, forward-thinking, and commitment to the business of books are a model to the industry."
