Cal Breeze-Galindo sent the Reign to the loser's bracket with a 4-1 victory, and the Miami Mini Canes ended their season with a 1-0 victory.

MIDLAND, Texas - The Oregon Reign finished tied for 49th place after they were eliminated from the ASA 16-and-under national softball tournament Friday.

The Reign were shut out 5-0 by the Orange County Storm on Friday for their second loss in the double-elimination tournament. The Reign were 2-2 in bracket play.

EAGLE POINT - Ben Kiesse and Andrew Schumacher had three hits each as the Willamette Valley 14-year-old all-star baseball team opened regional tournament pool play with a 22-1 victory over Gillette, Wyo., on Friday.

Kiesse knocked in four runs and Schumacher scored three, and Jerad Thompson, Sky Wilgus and Drew Irsfeld combined to throw a four-hitter.

ROSEVILLE, Calif. - The Golden Gloves of the Eugene area won twice Friday to remain in the ASA 12-and-under B national softball tournament.

 single gave the Golden Gloves a 7-6 victory over the Indianola (Ind.) Storm Chasers in their first game Friday. The Golden Gloves dropped into the loser's bracket of the double-elimination tournament with a 9-8 loss to the Castro Valley All-Stars late Thursday night.

In the second game, Brooke McAllister's bunt scored Taylor Pangilinan with the go-ahead run in the eighth inning as the Golden Gloves beat the Tigers of Adel, Iowa, 2-1.

Tori Pangilinan and Jill Greider combined to pitch a four-hitter for the Golden Gloves, who meet Huntington Beach today at 9 a.m.

The city is located within the most populated region of Texas, near to three of the 10 largest cities in the United States - Houston, Dallas, and San  - The Killer Bees of the Eugene-Springfield area won two games Friday but lost the third and were eliminated from the ASA softball 10-and-under national tournament.

The Texas Rowdy of La Porte beat the Killer Bees 8-1 in the round of 16 to end their season. The Killer Bees finished 5-2 in the 56-team tournament.

In Friday's first game, Carly Grabofsky struck out seven and Dani Gehrke went 2-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored as the Killer Bees beat the Colorado River Area All-Stars 8-2.

Nyree White pitched a one-hitter with five strikeouts and Paige Bennet hit a two-run double in the fourth inning as the Killer Bees won their second game 8-0 over the Kansas City (Kan.) Flash.
