Registry-SafeRent acquires U.D. Registry: the addition of U.D. Registry's client base and proprietary owner-resident data provides First Advantage Corp. with additional depth and enhanced resources in the Western United States.
Founded in 1977, UDR serves thousands of multifamily property owners and managers across the United States with an array of screening products designed to provide information for the risk assessment and selection of quality residents. Its services and operations are highly complementary to First Advantage's subsidiary, Registry-SafeRent, and the addition will deliver significant volume to First Advantage's Enterprise Screening segment operations.
AAL Receives Maytag Award
Livonia, Mich.-based Automatic Apartment Laundries Inc. (AAL) was selected as the recipient of Maytag's "Multi-Housing Excellence Award" for 2003. AAL also received a "Star Performer Award" by Maytag. The announcement was made at Maytag's annual Commercial Laundry Conference in Marco Island, Fla., in March. The annual conference acknowledges Maytag's best multifamily housing customers and commercial laundry distributors worldwide.
Each year Maytag chooses one multifamily housing laundry service provider and acknowledges it for service and growth excellence.
Hughes Supply Opens Warehouse
Hughes Supply opened a mega center in Miami on March 25. The first of its kind at Hughes, the mega center houses five product lines in one facility.
Creekstone Creates Partners
Creekstone Cos., a Houston-based fully integrated real estate investment group, has created Creekstone Partners to acquire and manage multifamily real estate assets throughout the country. Creekstone Partners will focus on acquiring A and B multifamily communities with 150-plus apartments in primary and secondary markets. The company will also explore special projects, including repositioning of older assets. Company officials expect to acquire 15 to 20 communities in 2004, with a value of $400 million to $500 million.
Creekstone Partners strengthens Creekstone Companies' multifaceted operations that also include Creekstone Builders, Creekstone Management and Creekstone Capital.
Movers and Shakers
Appliance Warehouse, Dallas, announced the addition of Natalie K. Duke to its management team. Duke will serve as Vice President of Sales for the Central and Western region.
CSS/Saflok, Troy, Mich., hired Susan Greco and Dan Doyle to join its Multifamily Sales Division. Greco is responsible for developing new relationships and servicing existing Saflok multifamily housing customers. She will manage the northeast territory of Connecticut, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont. Doyle will service the southeast territory for Saflok's Multifamily Housing Division. He will focus on new business development and account support.
John W. Bray has joined Primary Capital Advisors, Atlanta, in the position of Director for its Income Property Capital Group. Bray will be focused on originating multifamily lending through Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae and other lending sources. Bray previously was with Column Guarantee (formerly Standard Mortgage Corp.) for six years and has 15 years of real estate finance experience.
C. Glynn Culver was named Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Office of Automatic Apartment Laundries Inc. and will have full responsibility of all operations, as well as his current sales and marketing duties. He has been with AAL since June of 1994.
Mary Walsh has become part of the Atlanta-based SALES Inc. Accelerated Apartment Leasing Team after 10 years with AMSI, a Geac company. She will fill the role of National Accounts Manager.
Vintage Senior Housing LLC, a New port Beach, Calif.-based developer and operator of assisted living facilities, has appointed Cathy Ellis as Executive Director of Avalon at Newport East and Avalon at Newport West senior living communities. Ellis has been involved with senior housing and long-term care facilities for nearly 25 years and has spent the last 15 years in executive director positions at numerous assisted living communities.
David Albert has been named Regional Manager for El Paso, Texas-based EPT Management Co.'s East Region II. He comes to EPT with an extensive management and real estate background. He will oversee the operations of six apartment communities in Georgia and Florida, totaling approximately 1,400 apartments.
Darrel Borden has been named Regional Manager of EPT's East Region I. Borden comes to EPT with an extensive finance, business management and real estate background. Borden will oversee the operations of six apartment communities in Georgia, Florida and Virginia, totaling approximately 1,800 apartments.
Tamara Davis has been named Regional Manager of EPT's South Region. Davis comes to EPT with an extensive marketing, management and real estate background Davis will oversee the operations of seven apartment communities in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee, totaling approximately 1,400 apartments.
Michael C. Marshall has joined Cushman & Wakefield/The Apartment Group (TAG) as Director.
The Home Depot Supply announced the hiring of Mike D'Adamo as Vice President of Sales, leading the National Accounts and Field Account Management Teams serving the hospitality, maintenance, and multifamily industries. D'Adamo brings more than 20 years of sales management experience selling maintenance, repair and operations products to professional customers.
