The awards were announced at the association's annual summer publishers' convention, held Friday at the Valley River Inn in Eugene. A total of 2,140 submissions were received in this year's contest, which was judged by members of the Oklahoma Press Association. The Register-Guard collected a total of 20 honors, including a third-place General Excellence award, competing among daily newspapers with circulations of 25,001 or more. The awards are for work published in 2004.
