Growers' Market opens: The first Growers' Market of the season will be held Saturday at Coiner Park at 14th and Main streets, with new extended hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Organizer Darrell Palmer says many new vendors have been added to this year's lineup - with room for more - and the live musical entertainment also has been expanded. This weekend's music will be provided by The Obscure Brothers, Pacific Wind Band and the Boot Scooters List of scooter models per manufacturer Aprilia

River enhancement planned: The Middle Fork Willamette Watershed Council will host a four-hour river enhancement work party Saturday along the Middle Fork Willamette River The Middle Fork Willamette River is one of several forks that unite to form the Willamette River in the western part of the U.S. state of Oregon. It is approximately 115 mi (185 km) long,[1] .

Participants will meet at Greenwaters Park at 48362 Highway 58 at 9 a.m. and disperse to various sites along the river to pick up litter, remove graffiti, work on trails and pull invasive weeds. Afterward, workers will regroup re·group

SOUTHWEST OREGON

Awards dinner set: The Area Health Education Center of Southwest Oregon will hold its seventh annual awards dinner Friday at the Seven Feathers Hotel and Casino Resort.

The center will honor volunteers who have helped the nation recover from the Sept. 11 East Coast terrorists' attacks. Joanie McGowan of Jefferson Public Radio Jefferson Public Radio is a regional public radio broadcasting network serving a 60,000 square mile (150,000 km²) mostly rural area of Southern Oregon and Northern California.  will emcee the event.

WALTERVILLE

School celebration planned: Organizers of the Walterville School 50th Anniversary Celebration and Carnival are seeking volunteers and contributions.

The event, which will be held at the school at 40589 McKenzie Highway, will feature an alumni reception, car museum, student performance and barbecue/sock hop.
