Regional Development and Planning Minister receives World Bank representative in Tunisia.

TUNIS (TAP) - World Bank representative in Tunisia Eileen Murray expressed the major care of the bank for the development of the economic situation in Tunisia, reaffirming its readiness to support the process of reforms that will be started in the country shortly. Mrs Murray, who was received on Monday by Minister of Regional Development and Planning Jameleddine Gharbi, said that this working session is part of preparing the next visit in Tunis of the WB Director General and its vice President. This visit testifies to the will of developing co-operation and partnership between Tunisia and the WB and enquires about the programme of action and priorities of the next stage to allow the bank to decide which financial and technical aid it could provide to Tunisia, she said. The Minister briefed her about the reforms to be undertaken and the strategies to be worked out by the government to reinforce the foundations of good governance, pointing out that employment, improvement of living conditions in regions and increased economic competitiveness are the main challenges of next stage.
