Regional 3PL and Distribution Services Provider Ainsley Superior Warehouse Purchases Headwater's Delfour SmartEnterprise 2 Upgrade for Three Facilities.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Ainsley Superior Warehouse, a regional third party logistics warehousing, packaging and fulfillment provider with three food-grade ambient temperature facilities located in the Syracuse area, has signed an agreement with Headwater Technology Solutions Inc. to purchase the state-of-the-art Delfour SmartEnterprise 2 upgrade for its third party logistics software suite, it was announced today by General Manager Jon Besemer and Headwater Senior Vice President Joe E. Couto.

Ainsley Superior has used the predecessor version of the software for more than 11 years, Besemer said, and the upgrade will provide extended benefits both for its internal operations and for its domestic and international customers. The company operates some 500,000 square feet of warehouse space in three single-story facilities, specializing in glass, plastic and metal container products that it distributes within the Central New York region to beverage industry corporations such as Anheuser-Busch and Pepsico.

The software suite being implemented includes Headwater's Delfour Enterprise Foundation integration layer, WarehouseLogic 2.5, the Active Desktop single-point process monitoring and control module, the e-Vista web-based supply chain visibility tool, and the d'Amigo alerts and reporting tool. According to Besemer, the company plans to acquire Headwater's RFID module as well when it becomes available. The software will run under the Linux operating system on Dell PowerEdge 1800 servers.

Besemer noted that the SmartEnterprise 2 suite will enable Ainsley Superior to incorporate new efficiencies in its internal operations as well as in its customer relationships without the company having to revise procedures.

"Our employees are already extremely efficient in using the keystroke and command line procedures of the previous generation of the software, but now they will also have the advantage of mouse-driven monitoring and control through Active Desktop," he said. "Certain customers may also allow us to communicate with their software to provide inventory and status reports directly from SmartEnterprise 2. All will be able to view the status of their product at any time using the e-Vista web-based visibility tool, enabling them to check availabilities and provide up-to-the minute information to their own customers, a valuable service for those with just-in-time delivery requirements. This upgrade will definitely enhance the service we are able to provide as well as our customers' ability to serve users of their products."
