Reference material suppliers requested to certify according to T 1211.


Suppliers of reference materials for TAPPI TAPPI Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry  Test Methods are requested to certify cer·ti·fy

a. To confirm formally as true, accurate, or genuine.

b.
 their compliance with TAPPI Standard Practice T 1211 "Acceptance Procedures for Calibration Laboratories." This practice, issued in 1996 and revised in 2001, established guidelines for the listing of organizations as calibration laboratories or providers of standardized standardized

pertaining to data that have been submitted to standardization procedures.

 materials for TAPPI Test Methods. Such organizations are involved with the maintenance of master instruments, calibration of test instruments, and the issuance of calibration materials or transfer standards.

The list of reference material suppliers appears in the full set of TAPPI Test Methods and on the TAPPI website or is available upon request from the TAPPI Quality and Standards Department The Standards Department was a department of the English Board of Trade having the custody of the imperial standards of weights and measures. As far back as can be traced, the standard weights and measures, the primary instruments for determining the justness of all other weights . Organizations currently on the list will be notified by mail that it is required that they recertify re·cer·ti·fy

Organizations that file the recertification recertification Recredentialing Graduate education A process in which a professional is periodically re-evaluated–eg, every 10 yrs by an accrediting body to assure continued provision of safe, high-quality health care  from with TAPPI by July 1, 2003, are assured of being listed in the next edition of the full set of methods that will be published in February 2004. The filing date of July 1, 2003, has been established so that there will be time to review the responses prior to the publication deadline.

Organizations that provide reference materials for TAPPI Test Methods but which are not currently on the Reference Materials list should also submit self-certification forms by July 1, 2003, in order to be included in the next full set listing. Such organizations should contact Charles Bohanan (phone + 1 770 209-7276 or e-mail to cbohanan@tappi.org) to obtain the certification form.
