Reed W. Mapes, Inc.

From site selection through interior design, Reed W. Mapes, Inc. provides the expertise, personal service and attention to detail that make it a true leader among Southwest Florida builders and a top choice of leading architects.

In their two decades in the profession, the firm's president, Reed Mapes, and vice president Charlie Woehle have built a reputation for distinguished residential, commercial and historical renovations. They've also successfully met the challenges of projects ranging from heavy-duty industrial facilities such as steel mills and hospitals to custom-designed and crafted Gulf-front luxury homes.

Reed and Charlie are hands-on principals, dedicated to old-fashioned values of hard work and integrity. They perform much of their own computerized design work and job site inspection and interview their clients almost as much as the clients interview them.

"We have to make sure we understand what our clients want," Reed says. "That way, we can match their budgets to their wants and desires. We design and build knowing exactly what it will cost."

They have built some of the area's most notable homes, including the spectacular Kane residence on New Pass -- one of the largest homes in Southwest Florida.

They also act as developers, designing and building unique and beautiful homes from modern to traditional. Their latest project, North Beach Village, an enclave of 70 townhouses on Holmes Beach, is an affordable and environmentally sensitive response to the residential market.

Their commercial work covers a large range. They've built large apartment projects, condominiums and landmarks such as Regatta Pointe, Palmetto's famous marina/retail complex. Yet they're equally fascinated by unique projects such as their painstaking renovation of an historic office building in downtown Bradenton into elegant quarters for an established law firm.

This diversity has given them extensive experience before government bodies such as county commissions, the Florida Department of Natural Resources and the Department of Environmental Regulation. They're comfortable and capable in the increasingly important -- and complex -- world of government regulations.

But even beyond their experience and skills, it's the character of this team that sets them apart. Clients know they can count on Reed Mapes' integrity and wholehearted commitment. "We do the jobs we enjoy," says Reed. "The jobs that require creativity, design innovation and absolute quality construction. Those who know us, recommend us."
