Reed Business Information (formerly Cahners) has unified its electronics industry electronics industry, the business of creating, designing, producing, and selling devices such as radios, televisions, stereos, computers, semiconductors, transistors, and integrated circuits (see electronics). As sales of electronic products in the United States grew from some $200 million in 1927 to over $266 billion in 1990, the electronics industry transformed factories, offices, and homes, emerging as a key economic sector that rivaled the chemical, steel, assets into a new Reed Electronics Group. The new group includes "the electronics industry's largest collection of technical and business publications," Reed said, with a subscriber base of over 1.5 million. The group will publish directories, newsletters, yearbooks, and technical and academic books. Its online resources include eInSite.com, 18 segment-specific webzines A magazine published on the Web. Pronounced "web-zeen," and also called a "zine." See e-zine., a daily e-mail news service and 16 segment- specific e-newsletters. It will also produce research reports and brand studies, as well as related conferences and trade shows worldwide.
