Redwood Credit Union, Napa, Calif., announced that its Sonoma branch manager, Alfredo Pedroza, was recently elected to the Napa City Council. His priorities as a City Council member will include job creation, making Napa affordable for families, promoting a healthy business environment, and improving Napa's transportation infrastructure, the credit union said. Pedroza has worked in financial services since 2005, and joined Redwood Credit Union in 2009 as assistant branch manager of the Napa branch before becoming branch manager of the Sonoma and Glen Ellen branches. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and economics from Sonoma State University. He is commissioner for the Napa County Gang and Youth Violence Commission and sits on boards and committees for numerous other local organizations, including Community Action Napa Valley, Sonoma State University Alumni Campus Advisory Committee, and Napa County Hispanic Network. He has previously served on the board of directors of the Napa Valley Education Foundation, Napa Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Sonoma County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. "We are extremely proud of Alfredo and are confident he will be a great asset as a City Council member for the people of Napa," said Brett Martinez, RCU president/CEO.
