Recycle your holiday cards.

Patricia Bonanni, of Williamstown, NJ, has kids write math problems from recycled holiday cards: Old holiday cards provide many opportunities for learning. I have students use them as inspiration to write festive word problems. For instance: There are eight candles in four menorahs. How many candles are there in all? I collect cards that I have received, and also ask families to donate their old cards, to ensure a wide variety of possible problems!
