The award acknowledges organizations that have made a significant commitment to the conservation of natural resources conservation of natural resources, the wise use of the earth's resources by humanity. "Recycling is a core business for Waste Management and RAA, and we are committed to being the leader in innovation and the use of technology in the recycling industry. We believe that technology and public education efforts are key to increasing the sustainability of recycling in the U.S. and Canada."

RAA has approximately 2,700 employees, handles more than 8 million tons of commodities per year, operates 80 recycling plants and provides marketing for more than 190 Waste Management locations in the U.S. and Canada. RAA also operates 11 container processing plants, two plastics recycling plants and four electronics recycling plants.
