Recreation professor retires.


Dr. Leo Leo, in astronomy
Leo [Lat.,=the lion], northern constellation lying S of Ursa Major and on the ecliptic (apparent path of the sun through the heavens) between Cancer and Virgo; it is one of the constellations of the zodiac.
 McAvoy has officially retired from the University of Minnesota (body, education) University of Minnesota - The home of Gopher.

 after 33 years of service. McAvoy was employed with the University of Minnesota since 1973, and was head of the division for Recreation, Park, and Leisure Studies from 1989-1994 and Recreation and Sport Studies from 1997-2004 as well as serving as interim director in 2002-2003.

A scholarship fund is being established in his honor HIS HONOR. A title given by the constitution of Massachusetts to the lieutenant governor of that commonwealth. Const. part 2, c. 2, s. 2, art. 1. It, is also customarily given to some inferior magistrates, as the mayor of a city. , which will be a living tribute to all his years of dedication and service to students, colleagues, faculty and staff whose lives he touched. The money collected will be used, per McAvoy's request, for students in the area of recreation studies.
