Recovery has a mental aspect in addition to physical recovery, and balance can mean adding an element of fun to your training. Lose the earnest "training" attitude on a regular basis. Make a game of running. Fun runs can help you enjoy your running more by giving you a mental break. Whether you are racing at the head of the pack or pulling in more modest times with the masses, you need to plan physical and mental recovery into your schedule.
