With bells, whistles and Lady Liberty, media activists interrupted the September 13 meeting of the National Association of Broadcasters by presenting Cheap Channel Radio.

Cheap Channel Radio parodies Clear Channel's practices of acquiring radio stations and producing homogenous shows with the same deejays in multiple markets. Clear Channel began a buying spree after the 1996 Telecommunications Act deregulated the media market. The company now owns more than 1,200 radio stations in the United States.
