Recipients of the 2006 British Consul General Awards Named.

CHICAGO -- The British-American Business Council, Chicago (BABC, Chicago) is proud to announce that Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is the recipient of the Fourth Annual 2006 British Consul General Award. The award recognizes organizations that have made significant contributions to trade, commerce, job growth, creation of new products, and/or civic, philanthropic, or cultural relations between the United Kingdom and the United States. In addition, a special award in the "Smaller Enterprise" category will be presented this year to the British School of Chicago for its outstanding growth and contribution in the field of education.

The awards will be presented at a BABC dinner, sponsored by Baker & McKenzie LLP, Boeing, and Wells Fargo HSBC Trade Bank, N.A., on September 27, 2006, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the InterContinental Hotel, 505 N. Michigan Ave., in Chicago. Members of the British Parliament will be honorary guests again this year.

The British School of Chicago, part of a privately-held, British-owned group, is being honored for the outstanding growth it has achieved and for its unique contribution to the Chicago educational community. Offering an alternative choice for private school education (K-12) in Chicago, the school opened its doors in September 2001 with approximately 15 pupils and has grown to 260 pupils in 2006. The school offers a challenging and broad curriculum based on the English National Curriculum, facilitating educational continuity for a range of international executives and their families--with 85% of the families being American. Other British Schools are located in Washington, D.C., Boston, Charlotte, and Houston.
