In the fall of 2005, NRPA NRPA National Recreation and Park Association

 member Curtis Stoddard took a journey to Sri Lanka Sri Lanka (srē läng`kə) [Sinhalese,=resplendent land], formerly Ceylon, ancient Taprobane, officially Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, island republic (2005 est. pop.  to help locals complete new playgrounds for children in tsunami-ravaged areas. He brought his expertise, his compassion and luckily for us, his camera. Locals learned to test for plumb using string.

Concrete is passed relay style from the mixing area to the equipment.

A builder enjoys his lunch.

Locals drank from coconut shells which were then hollowed out and used as digging tools.
