SALT LAKE CITY -- Introduces next-generation computing platform See platform.  that radically simplifies the secure delivery of desktop and enterprise applications and services to mobile corporate end users

Realm Systems today introduced a new mobile computing Using a computing device while in transit. Mobile computing implies wireless transmission, but wireless transmission does not necessarily imply mobile computing. Fixed wireless applications use satellites, radio systems and lasers to transmit between permanent objects such as buildings  platform that provides the enterprise with a complete framework to mobilize the enterprise workforce and simultaneously provide safe and secure mobility to the corporate end user, wherever they may be. The platform consists of two key elements - the Realm Mobile Personal Server (MPS) and the Realm SOBA so·ba

Router. Together, they comprise a next-generation computing platform that radically simplifies the secure delivery of desktop and enterprise applications and services to mobile corporate end users.

Realm Systems is the world's first platform for easy, secure, mobile computing, end-point provisioning, and authentication. Using Realm Systems' Mobile Personal Server, a device the size of a small cell phone, corporate end users can safely and securely access their enterprise applications any place, any time on any available PC. The Realm MPS enables enterprise employees to take their corporate networks with them everywhere they go - data, applications, and desktop look & feel are the same on any computer regardless of host operating system operating system (OS)

Software that controls the operation of a computer, directs the input and output of data, keeps track of files, and controls the processing of computer programs.
. The Realm SOBA Router is a centralized back-end system that maximizes desktop control and security, while significantly lowering desktop maintenance costs. With Realm's platform, IT Managers are able to maintain thousands of users, secure and enable enterprise applications, and increase ROI (Return On Investment) The monetary benefits derived from having spent money on developing or revising a system. In the IT world, there are more ways to compute ROI than Carter has liver pills (and for those of you who never heard of that expression, it means a lot).  on their existing web services (1) Loosely, any online service delivered over the Web. About The Realm Mobile Personal Server

The Realm MPS is the world's first and only easy-to-use, secure, USB powered computing device that can be used any place, any time, on any operating system. It comes with an embedded operating system An operating system used in special-purpose applications (embedded systems). Embedded operating systems are typically very compact and often designed for real time operations.  or up to a 20GB hard drive. Truly a server that fits in your pocket, the Realm MPS enables the enterprise to deliver the benefits of truly secure mobile computing to their workforce, wherever they may go. Enterprise IT controls and provisions what is available for their end users - data, applications, web services, and desktop look and feel. By simply docking the device in any computer with a USB interface, the MPS takes over the monitor, keyboard, mouse, and Internet connection - all without leaving a trace. With the MPS intermittent connectivity capability, the enterprise user can literally stop writing mid-sentence in their word processor or other application, unplug and go, then plug in at another location and the cursor will be waiting in the same place, on any computer with a USB interface - no long boot up required. Using a built-in biometric identification system and complete password protection, the MPS extends the corporate domain of security and administration by authenticating the approved user through a 2048-bit encrypted VPN (Virtual Private Network) A private network that is configured within a public network (a carrier's network or the Internet) in order to take advantage of the economies of scale and management facilities of large networks.  tunnel which is established every time the MPS is connected to a computer with an Internet connection. This provides true end-point secure access to files, applications and enterprise services without jeopardizing confidential enterprise data, or requiring any software to be installed on the host.

About the Realm SOBA Router

The Realm SOBA Router is a centralized back-end system that maximizes desktop control and security for thousands of mobile personal servers, while significantly lowering desktop maintenance costs. Designed to provide IT managers with a greater degree of control over user desktops, the SOBA router makes it easy to deploy and manage employee applications across the entire workforce from one single point of contact through a distributed desktop environment. The SOBA router can be used to easily deploy and safely provision Web services to employees, partners, and customers, according to their approved level of access. Each mobile personal server is secured with the user's thumbprint, user name and password and authenticated by the SOBA router every time a connection is made. Should an MPS be lost or stolen, the SOBA router can render the missing device useless in a few seconds. And, since the SOBA router saves an exact duplicate of the enterprise users' desktop environment, which includes personal server applications, data, and desktop look and feel, a missing MPS can be inexpensively replaced in a few minutes.
