Real estate industry bullish on Mayor Mike.

As the Giuliani administration draws to a close, real estate sources were asked to gauge the effect that a new administration headed by mayor-elect Michael Bloomberg Michael Rubens Bloomberg (born 14 February 1942) is an American businessman, and the founder of Bloomberg L.P., currently serving as the Mayor of New York City. He was a general partner at Salomon Brothers before founding the financial software service company in 1981.  will have on their industry.

Bloomberg lagged behind Green in the polls during much of the campaign, but in the final weeks, was able to close the gap.

"All indications are that Michael Bloomberg is very knowledgeable about the real estate world. I would expect that to translate into a positive respect for business growth in New York as there was under Giuliani," said Brian Schwagerl, senior manager of facilities planning for the Hearst Corporation The Hearst Corporation is a privately-held American-based media conglomerate based in the Hearst Tower in New York City, USA. "He knows that the economy is the engine that drives this city. And with his extensive business background, I think he will carry on what Giuliani started," said Ed Malloy, president of the Building and Construction Trades Council of Greater New York.

Prior to entering the mayoral race, Bloomberg was immersed in one of the city's biggest commercial development--the new Bloomberg headquarters on the East Side. The project ultimately went to Vornado, now are now developing it.

"When Giuliani came in, he wasn't a politician. Same story with Bloomberg--he was a businessman," said Andy Frankl, president of IBEX ibex (ī`bĕks), wild goat, genus Capra, found in rugged country on mountain ranges from central Asia to the Himalayas, S Europe, and NE Africa.  Construction.

That development is reportedly on track, and Bloomberg will watch it proceed from his new vantage point as mayor.
