Real Magnet Joins Bonded Sender Program; Program 'White Lists' Company's IP Addresses With Tens of Thousands of ISPs.


WASHINGTON -- Real Magnet, a leading e-mail marketing Email marketing is a form of direct marketing which uses electronic mail as a means of communicating commercial or fundraising messages to an audience. Under the Bonded Sender Program, legitimate e-mail senders are certified as using industry best practices, and as a result their messages are "white listed" with thousands of ISPs, including Hotmail and MSN (1) (MicroSoft Network) A family of Internet-based services from Microsoft, which includes a search engine, e-mail (Hotmail), instant messaging (Windows Live Messaging) and a general-purpose portal with news, information and shopping (MSN Directory). .

To qualify for the program, Real Magnet's technology and practices had to be certified by Trust-e, a non-profit privacy organization and program partner. Once certified, certain Real Magnet IP addresses were dedicated to the program and "white listed" with IronPort's network of 34,000 receiving organizations, including MSN and Hotmail. IronPort estimates their footprint to cover more than 30% of all e-mail recipients.

The Bonded Sender Program also requires Real Magnet to post a bond guaranteeing that all messages sent from the dedicated IP addresses are from organizations that comply with the program's "E-mail Sender Standards." If a complaint is lodged against a message from a dedicated IP address, the bond is debited and the cost is passed on to the sending organization.

The Bonded Sender IP is a value-added service A value-added service (VAS) is a telecommunications industry term for non-core services or, in short, all services beyond standard voice calls and fax transmissions.  Real Magnet offers to its clients and participation is optional. Real Magnet must certify those senders wishing to join the program.
