Zoom in on the newest member of ParkerVision's CameraMan series, the CameraMan 3e 3-CCD Robotic Camera System, scheduled to ship this month. It features a 3-CCD camera block that offers both analog and SDI (1) (Serial Digital Interface) A physical interface widely used for transmitting digital video in various formats. For electrical transmission, it uses a high grade of coaxial cable and a single BNC connector with Teflon insulation.  digital video output, and a switchable 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratio. The CameraMan 3e also offers a 12X zoom tens and up to 48X zoom (using both optical and 4X digital zoom Simulating a longer focal length in a digital camera via software. The digital zoom is accomplished via image enhancement software within the camera itself rather than the inherent mechanics of the physical zoom lens. For more details, see optical zoom. ). Other features include auto focus and auto-white balance modes, as well as manual configuration for a wide range of lighting and mounting positions.
