Top-Selling Boxing Game Supported by National Promotions Campaign

Midway Home Entertainment Inc., one of the industry's leading video game publishers and developers, today announced that its hit game, Ready 2 Rumble(TM) Boxing, will be featured in several upcoming special promotions and appearances throughout the holiday season.

Ready 2 Rumble Boxing Ready 2 Rumble Boxing is a boxing game for the Sega Dreamcast, PlayStation, Game Boy Color, and Nintendo 64 and it was released in 1999 by Midway. The success of the Dreamcast version led to it becoming one of the few Sega All Stars titles.  is currently available for the Sega Dreamcast(TM) system with PlayStation(R) game console and Nintendo(R) 64 versions due out in mid November. A Game Boy(R) Color version will ship to stores nationwide in December. Since its September launch, Ready 2 Rumble Boxing has been a top selling Sega Dreamcast game, reaching the number two sales spot in recent weeks. Midway's Ready 2 Rumble Boxing features Michael Buffer, "The Voice of Champions(TM)" and his famous "Let's Get Ready to Rumble(TM)" trademark call, and gives players the opportunity to compete as one of 16 boxers, each with their own fighting style.

To further increase nationwide exposure for the game, Midway has secured the following special promotions:

The Tonight Show with Jay Leno

On Thursday, November 4, 1999, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno is scheduled to feature a superimposed su·per·im·pose

The Family Values Tour The Family Values Tour was created by the band Korn in 1998 to be an annual nu metal, Alternative Metal, Heavy Metal, Hard Rock and Rap tour. Korn headlined the first tour, then passed the headlining spot to Limp Bizkit in 1999.  

Ready 2 Rumble Boxing had a starring role in the Family Values Tour, a touring alternative rock concert sponsored by Sega Dreamcast and starring Limp Bizkit, Filter, DMX See DMX512. , Method Man & Redman and the Crystal Method. The Family Values Tour hit major venues in approximately 34 U.S. cities from September through the first week of November. During each concert, one lucky audience member got the chance to play a Jumbotron(TM) broadcast round of Ready 2 Rumble Boxing against Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst.
