Top-Selling Boxing Game Supported by National Promotions Campaign

Midway Home Entertainment Inc., one of the industry's leading video game publishers and developers, today announced that its hit game, Ready 2 Rumble(TM) Boxing, will be featured in several upcoming special promotions and appearances throughout the holiday season.

Ready 2 Rumble Boxing is currently available for the Sega Dreamcast(TM) system with PlayStation(R) game console and Nintendo(R) 64 versions due out in mid November. A Game Boy(R) Color version will ship to stores nationwide in December. Since its September launch, Ready 2 Rumble Boxing has been a top selling Sega Dreamcast game, reaching the number two sales spot in recent weeks. Midway's Ready 2 Rumble Boxing features Michael Buffer, "The Voice of Champions(TM)" and his famous "Let's Get Ready to Rumble(TM)" trademark call, and gives players the opportunity to compete as one of 16 boxers, each with their own fighting style.

The Tonight Show with Jay Leno

On Thursday, November 4, 1999, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno is scheduled to feature a superimposed Leno in the Ready 2 Rumble Boxing game. In the comical piece, Leno meets Buffer in the ring, and then proceeds to get knocked around by Afro Thunder, one of Ready 2 Rumble Boxing's most popular characters.

The Family Values Tour 

Ready 2 Rumble Boxing had a starring role in the Family Values Tour, a touring alternative rock concert sponsored by Sega Dreamcast and starring Limp Bizkit, Filter, DMX, Method Man & Redman and the Crystal Method. The Family Values Tour hit major venues in approximately 34 U.S. cities from September through the first week of November. During each concert, one lucky audience member got the chance to play a Jumbotron(TM) broadcast round of Ready 2 Rumble Boxing against Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst.

1999 Hollywood Christmas Parade 

Midway is also participating in the star-studded 1999 Hollywood Christmas Parade with a Ready 2 Rumble Boxing float. Michael Buffer, four game characters, and four teens from the D.A.R. E. advocacy group (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) will ride on the float dowl of managing money used to sign boxers and buyd the game, "truly a heavyweight, with jaw-dropping graphics and over-the-top game play."

Midway is supporting Ready 2 Rumble with a multi-million dollar marketing campaign. The program includes TV commercials featuring Michael Buffer, print ads, exclusive in-store promotions, direct mail, giveaways, a special Ready 2 Rumble Boxing Web site, and a partnership with Sega.
