Cousar rarely adopts radical positions. He interprets Galatians as a an example of deliberative de·lib·er·a·tive  
adj.
1. Assembled or organized for deliberation or debate: a deliberative legislature.

2. Characterized by or for use in deliberation or debate.
 rhetoric, rejects theories of multiple letters in Philippians, interpreting it as a letter of friendship, and regards 1 Thessalonians as a model of pastoral pastoral, literary work in which the shepherd's life is presented in a conventionalized manner. In this convention the purity and simplicity of shepherd life is contrasted with the corruption and artificiality of the court or the city.  sensitivity and care. The bulk of the book is devoted to the interpretation of these letters, an interpretation that is informed, careful, and highly useful. Pastors will find this a major resource when preparing for adult forums. I like Cousar's work very much. EK
