Readers respond to changes to JCT.

DEAR EDITOR: I just received my first copies of the JCT COATINGSTECH and JCT RESEARCH publications and after having reviewed them I hasten to express my congratulations for the positive change that has been carried out to address the interests and requirements of FSCT members.

COATINGSTECH with its practical content on membership, FSCT, business and industry news will satisfy the information needs of the large majority of members to read the magazine from first to the last page (including Humbug from Hillman!) whereas research chemists will obtain highest level technical information relevent to their work from JCT RESEARCH.

May I be forgiven to say that this was not the case with the Journal of Coatings Technology where the majority of members went from the first few pages to the last few with wasteful results.

This is truly a very positive and efficient improvement and I would like to extend my best wishes for future success.

DEAR EDITOR: I just got my first copies of the two periodicals. You and everyone involved should be very proud of the results. They both are very professional looking and well presented. I think the mix for the COATINGSTECH is great. Good coverage of the FSCT Meeting. ICE and business news in general.

I like the layout of the JCT RESEARCH where every paper starts on the right hand page. It makes it very easy to leaf through the journal. I know the extra white page is a hidden cost, but it makes the journal very easy to handle.

Please pass my "congratulations" on to all involved.
