Unlike anything else available, the beamforming capability delivered with the rV100i is simpler and more relevant to Pre-WiMAX current WiMAX applications, allowing the beamforming engine to be applied at the Intermediate Frequency (IF), so that unlike most alternative solutions - the system doesn't have to be integrated into the base station. The result is an increased efficiency and reliability at a much lower cost than adding redundant network nodes for the network operator.

Running on a standard PC the rV100i's interface is fully web-enabled and allows users to graphically set the parameters of their rV100i signal processor and can be customized for the specific network tower location to include Google Maps[TM] visual depictions to show beam locations and patterns. Since network intelligence drives the adaptive beamforming parameters, the network interface displays the effective coverage, shape and bandwidth of each beam. The system controls both the uplink and downlink signal pattern to accommodate frequency selection, spatial location and beam shape. This rich user control with visual awareness combined with real-time diagnostics, ensures the system will perform to the highest capability. The adaptive antenna processor within the rV100i uses ReVerb's patented Digital IF beam-forming technology to provide both uplink and downlink signal shaping capability. The product currently interfaces to analog IF coaxial systems and the company will also introduce support for additional radio head interfaces as they evolve, such as OBSAI RP-03.
