ReSource St. Louis launches web site.


* ReSource St. Louis, a coalition of St. Louis businesses and organizations committed to promoting construction materials recycling recycling, the process of recovering and reusing waste products—from household use, manufacturing, agriculture, and business—and thereby reducing their burden on the environment.  and sustainable building practices, has launched a Web site, www.resourcestlouis.org.

Developed with a grant from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources Many sub-national governments have a Department of Natural Resources or similarly-named organization:

The term is quite redundant because all databases are searchable. In fact, that is one of their major features.  for online construction materials and makes available other tools for sustainable buildings, such as tips on methods to promote energy efficiency, improve air quality, reduce water consumption and implement sustainable operation practices.

* Reduce the overall impact of construction practices on the local and global environment;

* Reduce dependence on landfills as the primary method of disposing of C&D debris debris /de·bris/ (de-bre´) fragments of devitalized tissue or foreign matter. In dentistry, soft foreign material loosely attached to a tooth surface. ;

* Partner with like-minded manufacturing and construction companies to recycle construction materials cost effectively;

* Increase awareness of sustainable building operations and maintenance practices for the St. Louis region; and

* Create a successful business model that can be shared with other regions and organizations.

ReSource St. Louis was originally founded as the St. Louis Sustainable Buildings Co-Op. Local companies that have been involved with the program include Enterprise Rent-A-Car, HOK, Alberici Constructors, William Tao & Associates and Maritz Corp.
