Re "Canada Needs an Abortion Law," Jonathan Kay, March 27, National Post.

Mr Kay is calling for the wrong party to bring forward legislation to establish an abortion law Abortion law is legislation which pertains to the provision of abortion. Abortion has at times emerged as a controversial subject in various societies because of the moral and ethical issues that surround it, though other considerations, such as a state's pro- or antinatalist  in Canada. Prime Minister Harper has said his government does not intend to bring forth any legislation in this area, as he promised in his campaign. He also stated that he would like to see parliment more open and democratic. I suggest that this would be a perfect time to test both his promises.

Ask the pro-life Liberals such as Tom Wappel Thomas William Wappel, MP (born February 9, 1950) is a Canadian Member of Parliament. He has been a Liberal member of the House of Commons since 1988, and represents the Toronto riding of Scarborough Southwest.  to bring forward a private members bill that would address the rights of unborn Canadians. This is a golden opportunity for the pro life caucus caucus: see convention.  to unite under a bill such as this. We will then see if Prime Minister Harper will allow a free vote. As for the pro-life Liberals who claimed to have been hamstrung ham·string

2. or hamstrings The hamstring muscle.

3. The large tendon in the back of the hock of a quadruped.

under the Martin regime, this is no longer the case. No threat of the back benches hangs over their heads should they vote their conscience. This then, would be the best of both worlds.

The opposition who are publicly and privately opposed to abortion and dissatisfied dis·sat·is·fied

dis·satis·fied
with Canada's laws allowing abortion on demand, do the work of drafting the bill and Prime Minister Harper keeps his promises. Parliament instantly becomes more open and democratic, and a much needed debate on the life issues begins. This would be good news for Canada.
