AUTEC is responsible for research, development, engineering, operation, and testing of the Navy's underwater, air, and surface weapons systems. Under the contract, Raytheon Service Company, a unit of Raytheon Engineers & Constructors, will provide a variety of services to support base operations, instrumentation systems, and marine and air operations. Specifically, Raytheon will provide technical support for AUTEC's weapons systems test facilities. This includes in-water and air tracking; real-time test operations control; data collection; target/weapon launch and recovery; communications; system engineering analysis; and acoustic tracking and testing of torpedoes, unmanned underwater vehicles, and sonar systems. Raytheon will also provide base logistics support for AUTEC. This work includes supply of aircraft; maintenance and repair of public works facilities; and operation of utilities.
