Raytheon Awarded $9.3 Million Test Equipment Development Contract.

LEXINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 16, 1998--Raytheon Company (NYSE:RTNA)(NYSE:RTNB) has been awarded a $9.3 million contract to design and build test equipment for Diesel Division General Motors.

Raytheon Systems Company, the defense and government electronics unit of Raytheon Company, will develop test equipment at its facilities in Fullerton, Calif., for Canada's newest reconnaissance and armored personnel vehicles under the contract that extends through December 1999. The new equipment will test the thermal imaging system, laser rangefinder, laser warning receiver, and the turret power and electronic control units of the Canadian vehicles. The equipment will complement Raytheon's Automatic TOW 2 Field Test Set already in use by Canada and 10 other nations. This test equipment suite forms the Raytheon Land Combat System Tester, a fully integrated test solution for electro-optical fire control and turret electronics.
