 television in Trois-Rivieres, Mr. Briere became general manager of the station and then of CHLT radio in Sherbrooke. In the early 1980s, he was director of programming for CKAC CKAC Center for Korean American Culture  and then general manager of CJMS in Montreal and vice-president of the Radiomutuel network.

From there, Mr. Briere moved to general manager of CKAC and vice-president of Radiomedia, actively participating in its turnaround. He joined the TVA TVA: see Tennessee Valley Authority.  Group in 1998 as vice-president, specialty channels. He then became senior vice-president, broadcasting, and, successively, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. . In August 2004, he was named president and COO of Radio Nord Communications, which operates five television stations and fourteen radio stations.

Raynald Briere also sits on the boards of Kangourou Media Inc., the Quebec Federation of Chambers of Commerce and the Jean-Duceppe Theatre Company.

In keeping with the stock option plan approved by shareholders on February 17, 2000, Mr. Briere was granted options to acquire 160,000 Class A shares of the company at the exercise price of $0.25 each, the closing price on the day before the option was granted. The options, which expire on October 5, 2010, can be exercised at a rate of 40,000 shares per year beginning on the anniversary date.
