Rational Apex is an integrated, interactive, software- engineering environment for controlling the development of complex software systems. Rational Apex Duo, combined with the VADScross C/C++ compilers, makes it easier for organizations to use the Ada programming language on a wider range of software projects. "Most large Ada projects include some code written in other languages, especially C or C++," said Kevin Nix, director of marketing at Rational. Rational Apex Duo provides common editing/browsing, compilation, execution support, debugging, architectural enforcement, and configuration management and version control for each of these languages. Rational's VADScross C/C++ cross-compilers provide a mixed-language solution for embedded-systems development.
