Raser's Symetron Alternator Demonstrates up to 56% Improvement in Power Output in Customer Testing.

PROVO, Utah -- Raser Technologies Inc. (NYSE Arca For other uses of "ARCA", see ARCA.

NYSE Arca, previously known as ArcaEx, an abbreviation of Archipelago Exchange, is an entirely online securities exchange on which both stocks and options are traded.
: RZ) ("Raser"), an energy technology company that develops and licenses advanced electric motor, controller and related technologies, today announced recent test results of its Symetron(TM) alternator alternator: see generator.

technology designed for heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles.

The Symetron(TM) enhanced alternator demonstrated up to 56% improvement in power output over a state-of-the-art, heavy-duty alternator tested at a customer's facility. The Symetron(TM) alternator showed a consistent improvement in power output over the entire operating range of the alternator with a peak output of 235 amps compared to 164 amps for the stock alternator. The dramatic improvement in performance was achieved without increasing alternator size. The customer's testing followed the industry standard J-56 test protocol to evaluate alternator performance.

In addition to higher output under normal operating temperatures, the Raser alternator demonstrated that its advantage over the stock unit was even more significant in high heat operating environments In computing, an operating environment is the environment in which users run programs, whether in a command line interface, such as in MS-DOS or the Unix shell, or in a graphical user interface, such as in the Macintosh operating system. . The Symetron(TM) alternator demonstrated up to 56% improvement in power output when tested in elevated heat conditions.

The Symetron(TM) "brushless" alternator design also satisfies a growing trend away from traditional brushed alternators, which are less reliable and require additional periodic maintenance to replace worn brushes, toward more reliable brushless alternators.

The improved performance of the Symetron(TM) enhanced alternator was due, in part, to a proprietary Intelligent Voltage Regulator An electronic circuit used to maintain a level amount of voltage in an electrical line. It eliminates power surges, spikes and brownouts, which can cause harm to sensitive electronics. A voltage regulator "module" (VRM) is a voltage regulator in a replaceable unit. See surge suppression and UPS.  (IVR (Interactive Voice Response) An automated telephone information system that speaks to the caller with a combination of fixed voice menus and data extracted from databases in real time. ) developed by Raser. This proprietary design shows the potential to improve performance on a wide variety of alternators through an intelligent, dynamic operation. In addition to brushless "claw claw (klaw) a nail of an animal, particularly a carnivore, that is long and curved and has a sharp end.

pole"-style alternators, Raser is working on additional advanced alternator designs based on its own innovations in research and development.

"We believe that our innovations as applied to the heavy-duty truck market will also offer benefits to the automotive segment," said Raser Chief Technology Officer Timothy Fehr. "We will be offering the Symetron(TM) alternator technologies to OEMs and vehicle manufacturers over the coming months as we move toward commercialization."

load on the combustion engine. To power these additional electric motors, automakers are requiring alternators with increased power generating capability and improved efficiency.

The increase in power generated by the Symetron(TM) alternator provides an opportunity for a significant increase in value to alternator manufacturers and automakers. Traditionally, alternators are "priced by the amp" for the power they produce. By increasing power output by up to 56%, without increasing size, manufacturers can capture significant value from improved performance or reduced alternator size for heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles. The global OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  market for alternators is estimated to be approaching $10 billion annually.
