Rapid Reporting Outsources Computer Data Storage; Off Site Data Center to Increase Reliability and Enhance Performance.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Rapid Reporting, a national provider of pre-funding income and identity verification services to the mortgage industry, announced at the 92nd Annual Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) Convention & Expo that it has increased its capacity to handle customer verifications by more than 100 percent by outsourcing its current in house data storage to a remote data center facility about 20 miles from its office.

According to TJ Vanderpoel, Rapid Reporting's chief technology officer, the company selected Hurst, Texas-based Propagation Networks to handle the services that the company was previously performing on its in-house system. Propagation Networks is a tier one data center with four locations in the United States.

Rapid Reporting processes almost 20 percent of all verifications done in today's mortgage market, and with identity theft continuing to be one of the fastest growing crimes in America, the company anticipates verification volume to increase annually. Vanderpoel said, "We reviewed our options. We could expand our current facility by adding additional data storage hardware, or we could outsource our computer operations. The latter was very attractive because it is a very cost-effective solution, and will give us added performance capabilities."

For the past three years, Rapid Reporting has been running in-house operations with great success. Outsourcing the storage to the data center now enables Rapid Reporting to use its own computer facility for back-up operations. "This is a natural progression for us," Vanderpoel continued. "Having run the system in-house, we know that it works. The systems are mirrored, so if there is system downtime at the data center, we simply switch systems, and we are operational in less than 10 minutes."

The data center offers administrative access 24 x 7, and has extremely tight security controls in place. Vanderpoel, one of a select group of IT professionals who holds two certificates from The SANS (SysAdmin, Audit, Network, Security) Institute, the largest source for information security training and certification in the world, believes the enhanced performance and increased storage capacity will further propel Rapid Reporting into the future. "We have an aggressive growth plan in place, and now we have the capacity to handle that growth," Vanderpoel said.
