FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- Colorado's leading construction-industry association - the Associated General Contractors of Colorado - recently named Heath Construction President Randy DeMario 2007 secretary of the board.

As an officer of the board, DeMario will rotate through several officer positions in the coming years, culminating with board president in 2010.

"AGC is the premier organization for general contractors, subcontractors and related businesses in Colorado," said DeMario, a two-year AGC board member. The 320-member organization provides networking, labor relations, legal affairs, government relations, safety services, workforce development, industry information, and management and craft training to its members.

As an AGC board officer, DeMario plans to help build an even stronger statewide presence for the association, including creation of an AGC office in Northern Colorado.

"It's crucial for AGC to have a solid presence in Northern Colorado to ensure contractors and subcontractors continue to have a powerful voice in issues affecting the construction industry," DeMario said.

"Randy is passionate about AGC," said Dick O'Brecht, AGC executive director. "As a board member, he's been active in many important issues. He is interested and involved in AGC, and the committee that nominated him for an officer position recognized that."

Under DeMario's leadership and progressive growth plan, Heath Construction revenues have grown more than 65 percent in the past 12 months. DeMario has initiated a bold brand-building program that helped increase new acquired work, doubled the number of prospective clients contacting Heath and significantly increased annual gross revenues.
