Rainfinity debuts integrated High Availability Platform.

Rainfinity recently introduced the RainWall High Availability Platform, the first single solution security administrators can use to ensure non-stop, scalable performance for all their Internet gateway applications. Instead of using disparate technologies to build redundancy into each Internet gateway application, the RainWall High Availability Platform bolsters best-of-breed perimeter security solutions with common, integrated fault tolerance, acceleration and centralized management that increase resiliency while minimizing implementation, management and support costs.

The RainWall High Availability Platform comprises: RainWall for leading firewalls and VPN servers; RainWall for content security servers, such as gateway anti-virus protection and content filtering solutions; and RainConnect, the first software traffic management server solution for multi-homed networks. The RainWall platform enables security administrators to cluster firewalls, content security servers, and RainConnect to eliminate single points of failure and performance bottlenecks. A common web-based management console, RainManage, ties all RainWall High Availability Platform applications together with a consistent management interface and provides a bird's-eye-view of multi-cluster deployments.

"Organizations need all their gateway security applications and Internet connectivity to be highly available, but point solutions result in complexity and high costs," said Jack Norris, vice president of marketing at Rainfinity. "Using the RainWall High Availability Platform, administrators have the freedom to choose best-of-breed Internet gateway applications without sacrificing availability or performance while achieving the cost and time saving benefits of an integrated high availability platform."

"Content security is an indispensable part of every organization's perimeter defenses, and availability and performance issues must be dealt with," said Bob Hansmann, director of product marketing at Trend Micro. "With the addition of content security applications like InterScan VirusWall, the RainWall platform has become a formidable all-in-one solution for ensuring the availability and performance of these essential network security resources."

RainWall is Rainfinity's award-winning high availability and load balancing software solution for firewalls and content security servers, including Check Point VPN-1/Firewall-1, Microsoft ISA Server, Trend Micro InterScan VirusWall, Symantec Web Security, Finjan SurfinGate and ClearSwift MAILsweeper. RainWall increases reliability and speed for these security enforcement points by clustering two or more servers together into a single redundant system. RainWall detects network, hardware and software failures, and instantly redirects traffic around the problem, ensuring continuous availability. RainWall dynamically load balances traffic by optimizing the total capacity of clustered servers.

RainConnect provides uninterrupted Internet access by automatically detecting Internet outages and re-routing traffic, including VPN traffic, to an alternate path. RainConnect manages IP traffic across different address spaces, and deals effectively with Network Address Translation to ensure that connections and sessions are maintained.

RainWall for High Availability Platform is available today with RainWall and RainConnect 3.1.

Rainfinity's patented award-winning products provide high availability and optimized performance of networked resources, from Internet connections and security to networked attached storage. Rainfinity's solutions plug and play into existing environments, simplify deployment and administration, and significantly reduce costs.

Rainfinity's solutions are deployed across industries by customers such as AT&T, Bayer Corporation, Dresdner Bank, Harvard Medical School and Qantas Airways, Ltd. Strategic partners include Check Point Software Technologies, Ltd., Hewlett Packard Company, Microsoft, Network Appliance, Inc., Sun Microsystems, Inc. and Symantec Corporation. The company is headquartered in San Jose, California, with offices throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific.
