"This is going to be a critically important event for the future of the park, for the children who use it and for the city of Oakland as a whole," said Kathryn Raymond, executive director, Oakland Parks and Recreation. The Master Plan calls for creating two multi-purposed artificially surfaced sports fields with sports lighting, a new baseball field along with new park infrastructure and elements including new tot lots, walking/jogging path, picnic area, new lighting and a putting green. The park will be created in phases with Phase 1 including one of the two multi-purpose fields, the baseball field, a portion of the tot lot and the putting green along with ADA Ada, city, United States Ada (ā`ə), city (1990 pop. 15,820), seat of Pontotoc co., S central Okla.; inc. 1904.
